Police deported an American wanted by the FBI on Wednesday the night, a senior police official told Khmer Times.
Lieutenant General Uk Heisela, the director of inspection and procedure department of immigration, said Samuel Douglas Lovejoy, 31, had been deported to his home country on Wednesday night.
“We have already deported him with US officials coming to escort him,” he said.
Mr Lovejoy was arrested by police in Kampot province on January 9 after the FBI issued an arrest warrant in cooperation with the US embassy.
It is alleged he abused children in the United States and was not involved in any sexual abuse in Cambodia.
