Takeo Provincial Court yesterday charged a soldier with trafficking more than half a kilogram of crystal methamphetamine.

Bun Chanthy, deputy commander of Takeo Military Police, identified the suspect as Thoeng Then, 36, from Rokar Knong commune in Daun Keo district. He was arrested on Thursday.

“He was arrested after police raided his house,” Mr Chanthy said. “Police seized 639 grams of methamphetamine, a phone, and a motorbike from the suspect.” Mr Then faces up to ten years in prison if convicted.
