A private Chinese firm donated 13 vehicles to the National Police yesterday, to facilitate the transport of armed forces and conduct daily operations.
Chinese Prince Real Estate donated 13 Kia Bongo III 1.2 tonne trucks in an event attended by National Police Commissioner General Neth Savoeun and company board director Chen Zhi.
Lieutenant General Chan Sitha, director of the police’s intervention unit, said the trucks would be distributed between three units: the order unit, the protective police unit, and his own intervention unit.
“I and all members of the armed forces are happy with our Chinese friends’ gift,” Lt Gen Sitha said.
“We will maintain these trucks well and use them to carry out our duties. We cannot use these trucks to serve private interests.”
