Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday lashed out at some foreign analysts who recently commented on his health, labelling them “stupid”.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Cancer Treatment and Orthoscience Building at Calmette Hospital, Mr Hun Sen said three analysts, including historian and author David Chandler and Sebastian Strangio, had been interviewed for Southeast Asia Globe magazine, in a story headlined “Why the West was doomed to fail in Cambodia”.

He said they attempted to talk about concerns about the health of the prime minister.

“I pay attention to my health, but I want to tell that if you want…we can’t create soccer or volleyball teams, but I can match you on other things,” he said.

“Now if we could sit and talk together, who will go to the bathroom first?

“I can walk on a machine for two hours non-stop. I am just sending you a message – don’t be worried about my health, please take care of yourself first,” Mr Hun Sen added.
