A Belgian man was arrested at Phnom Penh International Airport at about 8pm on Wednesday and had been charged with illegally importing more than one kilo of cocaine.
Loek Vannak, the director of the Anti-Drug Department at the Interior Ministry, said Catry David Noel, 34, was arrested at Phnom Penh International Airport on Wednesday night after officials found more than one kilo of cocaine in his suitcase.
“We arrested him while he was picking up his suitcase,” said Mr Vannak.
Mr Vannak added that the suspect travelled from Brazil to Ethiopia to Thailand and then onto Cambodia where he was arrested after officers confiscated 1.003 kilos of cocaine.
