Defence Minister General Tea Banh will soon pay an official visit to Laos for a defence minister’s meeting involving Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.
According to a statement from the ministry yesterday, General Banh’s visit will take place from Saturday until Wednesday and he will hold meetings between the three countries’ defence ministers.
During his visit, he will also have two separate one-on-one meetings with each country’s defence ministers.
The statement added that all sides will sign a protocol of cooperation for their defence ministries at the end of the meetings.
Defence Ministry spokesman Chhum Socheat said the meetings will focus on cooperation to secure the region and battle terrorism.
He added that each meeting will also include discussions on border cooperation.
