Forty students of Samdech Hun Sen Angkor Stok High School, located in the Angkor Chey district of Kampot province, have collapsed since Friday.  As of yet no cause for this flare-up of faintings has been determined.

Provincial Education Department official Ith Sen Samnang said that 31 students, mostly girls, collapsed on Friday, and nine followed suit the next day.  All were sent to district hospital for treatment.

Most of the afflicted students recovered very quickly and all were able to go home.

Recently some 30 students of the Hun Sen Phum Thmey High School in Ratanakkiri’s Banlung town also fainted.  The exact cause is yet unknown, but health officials have claimed that the classrooms are not well ventilated, resulting in an oxygen shortage.
