A fortune-teller and three of his students were yesterday charged by Siem Reap Provincial Court for drug use and possession.

Sok Kimsuon, a police officer with the provincial anti-drug unit, identified the suspects as Dara Vichetr, 31, a fortune-teller and the group’s leader, as well as Hean Thy, 30, Ngor Vongvisal, 28, and Khloth Dara, 22. Mr Kimsuon said group was arrested on Tuesday after police raided the fortune-teller’s house in Kaksekam village in Strongae commune.

“We found out about their rental house after they sold drugs to some of our undercover police officers,” he said.

“They were caught smoking drugs in the house. We tested them all after their arrest, and all were positive for drug use.”

The raid led to the seizure of 11 packages of ketamine, 74 tablets of ecstasy, 14 packages of crystal methamphetamine, a drug scale, and four phones.

The suspects have been sent to jail pending their trial.
