Woman Held Over Sex Sting

A woman allegedly caught smuggling drugs into prison has been linked to the theft of $90,000 from a Finnish businessman.
 
Dangkor district police officer Kong Bunly said Chea Sovannara, 25, was caught by  prison guards with a small package of crystal methamphetamine hidden in food for her husband Vann Thy, who was being held in Prey Sar prison on suspicion of theft.
 
Police said that during interrogation, Ms. Sovannara was found to have money which was stolen from the businessman on Wednesday last week.  
 
The businessman, aged 48, had complained to police that he brought Ms. Sovannara, also known as Lyly, to his hotel on Tuesday last week.
 
They had sex multiple times but while he was sleeping Ms. Sovannara stole $88,926 and fled the hotel. 
 
Mr. Bunly said police had contacted the businessman and returned $34,000 to him on Friday. 
 
Ms. Sovannara, who works at a resort  in Phnom Penh, was charged yesterday with drug possessing and theft.
