A new job centre was unveiled in Preah Sihanouk province yesterday as the government attempts to promote it as the leading province for attracting foreign investment.

Labour Ministry secretary of state Pich Sophoan said the National Employment Agency decided to create the centre because there are many jobs available to workers in the province.

“Sihanoukville is a developed province with many economic zones, so there are many jobs available there. This job centre will play a key role in providing job information to people through experts with experience,” Mr Sophoan said.

The National Employment Agency also created a job centre in Banteay Meanchey last month to provide employment information to residents in the province, where many migrate to Thailand for work.

There are now eleven job centres across the country, in Phnom Penh, Battambang, Siem Reap, Kampot, Svay Rieng, Takeo, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, Prey Veng, Banteay Meanchey and Sihanoukville.
