To promote awareness of cultural and environmental issues, 123 students from about 20 universities have volunteered to help organise the “We Are One” event, which will be launched on Nov. 18 at Chaktomuk Hall.

Bun Robin, programme manager of the event, said the youth today are more likely to support K-pop and to be influenced by foreign culture, but are not active in supporting Khmer culture.

“We want youth to understand that Cambodia has had many forms of art since ancient times. We expect more than 1,000 people to join us because this time the event includes both indoor and outdoor activities,” Mr Robin said.

He said the event would showcase many forms of art to help participants get a clearer understanding of the full range of Khmer culture. He urged young people to get involved in preserving traditional culture, and not wait until it is too late.

The event is supported by the ministries of Culture, Tourism, Education, Environment and Information.

To book tickets, visit the We Are One website or call 078 377 101 or 086 630 016. Tickets cost 20,000 riel (30,000 riel for VIP seats)
