Keo Kangpiseth, 23, is a digital artist lately in 2016 who has loved to draw since he was young. Mr Piseth is a third-year student of business administration at Pannasastra University of Cambodia in Siem Reap city.

“I have loved drawing since first or second grade. At that time I was just drawing on paper with a pencil. When I got to Grade 11 I started to learn from my father how to draw pictures using oil paint,” he said.

Drawing a face on his computer, Mr Piseth said he didn’t learn art at school, but from his father and YouTube and other websites related to digital art and painting.

Mr Piseth has been a career artist for almost six years, selling his works at the night market in Siem Reap. He mostly draws people’s faces.

If he has the time, he can complete two pictures in a day, but often only has time for one. Mr Piseth hopes to combine his skill with what he is learning at university to create a full feature-length animated film, something he said Cambodia has not yet done.
