Cambodia yesterday expressed grave concern over North Korea’s nuclear testing last week, warning the action posed a serious threat to security in the region.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sixth nuclear test was a repeated violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and posed a threat to stability on the Korean Peninsula and the region as a whole.
“Cambodia urges the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to fully comply with all relevant UNSC resolutions and its international obligations and to cease all nuclear and missile tests in order to safeguard peace and stability,” the statement said.
Following the test on September 3, the UN enhanced sanctions against the isolated nation.
Mexico and Peru expelled North Korean ambassadors from their countries.
