IT research in Korea

To help researchers in the IT field gain work experience with South Korean entities, the Korean government is offering International IT Policy Programme Scholarships to students who wish to pursue degrees at the master’s and PhD levels. IT-related government officials, qualified researchers in the field and those with prior experience working with Korean entities are eligible.

US study scheme for young women

Cambodian and Rwandan women aged 18 to 23 with leadership potential who wish to study for a US undergraduate degree are invited to apply to the SHE-CAN scholar programme. Candidates are required to submit their high school transcripts/grades, national exam scores, and college transcripts to be considered.

Study in Mexico

The Mexican government invites prospective scholars from 180 countries to apply to its academic mobility programmes. These are open to all who wish to obtain a master’s or doctoral degree in a specialist field, or undertake graduate or postdoctoral research at a Mexican institution in any field except business administration, plastic surgery, accounting, marketing, dentistry, odontology and advertising.

SE Asian sport/youth ‘Funshop’

Citizens of ASEAN member states and East Timor are invited to join the Sport & the SDGs Funshop, a workshop promoting the positive thinking and interactions that are inherent in sport. The primary participants must submit a summary of a “TED-style talk” in the form of a short report to the UNESCO organisers. Two outstanding young people from each nation will be selected to deliver their speeches in Manila.

Business model contest

The BMC Business Model Competition Cambodia is open to all university students and those who have graduated within the last five years. Applicants must form teams of up to three people to compete in one of five areas: technology, medical/health, education, agriculture, and general business. The top two teams will compete in the finals of the Mekong Challenge in Bhutan on March 17, 2018.    

Youth summit

Aimed at challenging young people to take advantage of today’s rapidly changing technology and use it to solve problems, this World Bank-organised summit is open to individuals or teams of up to four people aged 18 to 35. Teams must propose an innovative and action-oriented idea on one of these themes: Transforming the Jobs and Skills of Tomorrow, Leveraging Information & Communication Technologies (ICTs), and Igniting Youth Entrepreneurship.

Aimed at promoting biodiversity conservation in ASEAN, and held under the theme “My Nature My Hero,” the EU-ASEAN Youth Video Competition is open to all 18- to 30-year-old candidates from ASEAN nations who love the beauty and peace of nature and have a talent for using video to illustrate critical ideas relating to the preservation and protection of nature.
