Two Cambodian and two Lao men were arrested for drug trafficking on Saturday after raids in Phnom Penh’s Russey Keo and Sen Sok districts.
Brigadier General Loeuk Vannak, chief of the Interior Ministry’s anti-drug department, said the men were caught with 10 large packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing more than eight kilos.
“They were drug ringleaders and transported illegal substances from the Cambodia-Laos border in Stung Treng to Phnom Penh and other provinces,” he said. “They were arrested after police raided two rental properties in Phnom Penh.”
Gen Vannak said the men have been detained for questioning at the Interior Ministry but declined to reveal their identities since the investigation is ongoing. Police are seeking other suspects for arrest, he added.
