Sok Touch promoted to president of RAC

Sok Touch has been promoted to president of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, taking the position from Lok Chumteav Clot Thida, now a personal adviser to Prime Minister Hun Sen.

According to a royal decree signed on Saturday, Mr Touch, who was formerly deputy president of the academy, is to take the position of president effective immediately.

“Appoint and provide the position for His Excellency Bandith Sapheachar Sok Touch as president of the Royal Academy of Cambodia with the position equal with minister,” the decree said.

Neither Mr Touch nor Mr Clot Thida could be reached for comment yesterday.
